International artist Raja Kumari is diving deep into Indian music with each collaboration. From singing the title track for Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to her recent Punjabi debut with Guru Randhawa’s “In Love”, she’s embracing the romantic essence of Punjabi music. Reflecting on her journey, she shares how the late Sidhu Moosewala inspired her to explore Punjabi music further.
“This song provided me with an opportunity to authentically express myself and discover my femininity, unlike my previous tracks focused on victory anthems and empowering vibes,” says Raja Kumari who collaborated with Guru Randhawa. She found creative freedom to experiment with Punjabi lyrics that captured her feisty personality.
Kumari appreciates Guru’s support in her language learning and experimentation. “He’s a master at crafting fun and creative lyrics. Everything coming out of his mouth is a hit.” she says. She’s thrilled with how he captured her personality in Punjabi, giving her the opportunity to push her boundaries and join the diverse music scene.
