1,000 Small Kids Relished a Fresh Food Treat from KisanKonnect’s Farmers at Seva Kitchen

Mumbai, October 2023: About 1,000 small children relished fresh, nutritious, and healthy food prepared with fresh vegetables and fruits provided specially by the farmers of KisanKonnect at Seva Kitchen, a charitable organisation that makes meals accessible to relatives of patients in hospitals and others in order to help people in need to address their hunger.

The farmers of KisanKonnect brought smiles of the faces of these 1,000 children when they enjoyed sumptuous meals made up of fresh vegetables specially plucked for them directly from the farms. The farmers of KisanKonnect initiated this endeavour with Seva Kitchen.

Mr Nidhi Nirmal, Business Head, KisanKonnect said, “Our farmers were delighted to see the joy of small children relishing the meals made with farm fresh vegetables and fruits brought specially for them directly from the farms. As Seva Kitchen serves the hunger needs of the needy, our farmers intended to provide a farm-fresh meal experience to the children. Children are the future of this country, and every child has a right to ‘Eat Right’ food, which is healthy and full of nutrition. If children are healthy, the whole nation would be healthy. Every child should be able to access right and nutritious food. Our initiative was a small step towards achieving the same.”

Mr Khushroo Poacha, Founder of Seva Kitchen said, “We are glad to have the farmers of KisanKonnect serve farm fresh food to the children at Seva Kitchen. While we serve the children, patients, and relatives of patients in hospitals through various initiatives, this gesture of farmers was certainly different, as the children could taste fresh and nutritious vegetables directly sourced from their farms. Children just do not need food, but they need right, quality, and nutritious food rich with minerals and low on chemicals for building a right health profile.”

To provide fresh and nutritious food, the farmers of KisanKonnect use the best regenerative soil techniques for maximum farm productivity and the best crop health to protect the health and environment through well – nourished vegetables and fruits. The farmers have taken an oath to make the country self-reliant by producing fresh food for building ‘Healthy India’. The 5,000 farmers of KisanKonnect also focus on ensuring transparency through traceability, fair prices, quality assurance and zero food loss.
