Mumbai, 26th May 2025: In a heartening move to cultivate a love for reading among young learners, the BrihanmumbaiMunicipal Corporation (BMC) has launched an initiative to create and enhance reading corners across municipal schools in Mumbai- called “Chala Vachu Ya! Summer Vacation Library.” With the goal of nurturing imagination, curiosity, and critical thinking from an early age, this effort aims to provide accessible literary spaces to empower the city’s future Changemakers. As part of this meaningful initiative, JBCN Education has partnered with BMC and has contributed a collection of books designed to enrich young minds.
The JBCN International School community came together to support the cause by contributing 700 preloved fiction, non-fiction, and activity-based books, serving as catalysts in spreading the joy of reading. The books, selected to inspire a lifelong love for reading, will help learners explore new worlds, ideas, and perspectives.
Commenting on the collaboration, a BMC official said, “Strengthening the reading culture among students is a key focus for BMC.
