National, September 2024: The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), the apex body of the gems and jewellery industry in India, is proud to announce the 13th edition of the National Jewellery Awards (NJA’24) – Pratibha ka Utsav. This prestigious event, which has successfully completed 12 previous editions, is set to take place on 26th September 2024 at the Jasmine Hall, Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, coinciding with the second day of the renowned India Gem & Jewellery Show (GJS).

Presented by the Indian Association of Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES) by the World Gold Council (WGC), and Powered by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Trophy Partner – Pranda, Platinum Partner – Platinum Guild India (PGI), Laboratory Partner – IDT Gemological Laboratories Worldwide, Supporting Partners – De Beers, Swarnshilp Chains & Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Laxmi Diamonds & Padmavati Chains & Jewels, Education Partner – International Institute of Gemology (IIG). The National Jewellery Awards are the jewellery industry’s most prestigious awards and serve as a distinguished platform that recognizes and celebrates the pinnacle of excellence within the gem and jewellery industry. This prestigious event is designed to honour the finest creations, innovations, and craftsmanship that define the essence of this industry.
This year’s NJA’24 will feature six award segments with over 1000 entries submitted across 35 categories, representing various sectors of the industry. As India’s largest and most prestigious jewellery awards, the NJA is known for its transparent, fair, and process-driven approach, validated by one of the Big 4 consultancy firms. It continues to recognize innovation, devotion, passion, and exceptional craftsmanship within the jewellery industry. Moreover, the NJA provides scholarships worth Rs. 10 lakh to the top 10 student winners. The shortlisting of nominations was finalized by our jury, whose unbiased and relentless efforts for the welfare of the gem and jewellery industry were showcased at the Grand Jury Round held on 19th September 2024 in Mumbai from which the winners will be honored at the NJA’24 award ceremony.

The NJA encourages competition and enhances industry standards, providing participants with opportunities for national recognition.”
Mr. Sunil Poddar, Convener of NJA, added, “The 13th edition of NJA’24 is unique in itself. This year, we have introduced 2 new categories: Jewellery Innovation Excellence Award & Jewellery of the Year (Theme – Colonial Elegance and Indian Heritage. NJA have six award segments which are further divided into 35 sub-categories to cover all segments of the jewellery industry starting from students, designers, jewellery awards, store awards, the women entrepreneurs, thus encouraging the entire value chain of the Gems & Jewellery Industry.”
Mr. Avinash Gupta, Co-convener of NJA, emphasized, “The selection process reaffirms the transparency and integrity that GJC stands for. NJA shines a spotlight on the artisans, craftsmen, and emerging designers who keep the tradition of jewellery manufacturing alive and evolving in India.”
The NJA, now in its 13th edition, continues to attract the best talents in the industry and provides a platform for them to gain recognition at a national level. It honours innovation, passion, and the skill of Indian jewellery artisans, and reinforces India’s leadership in the global jewellery market.
