Vietjet Launches New Route Bridging Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane, Strengthening Vietnam-Laos Ties

(Mumbai, February 26, 2024) In the early days of the new spring, Vietjet has enthusiastically inaugurated a new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Vientiane, Laos, expanding opportunities for economic development, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two neighbouring brotherly countries, Vietnam and Laos.

Mr. Souvannaseng Amphay, Deputy Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City, along with leaders from the Department of Civil Aviation of Laos, airports, Lao Airlines, locals, and tourists participated in the opening ceremony and congratulated the launching of Vietjet’s new route.

The Ho Chi Minh City – Vientiane route serves passengers with 4 return flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, providing a complete flying experience to the “Land of a Million Elephants” in just 1 hour and 45 minutes of flying.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet Vice President, shared: “The route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Vientiane not only shortens the travel time between Vietnam and Laos but also expands Vientiane’s connections to destinations in the region and the world via Vietjet’s international flight network.”

The airline has aggressively expanded its network to India, which is home to over 1.4 billion people, currently operating 35 round-trip flights per week across 5 major cities – Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Tiruchirappalli. Business class tickets offer an exquisite travel experience on Vietjet’s modern wide-body aircraft A330, featuring exclusive privileges such as private check-in counters, business lounges, private cabins, cocktail services, and the opportunity to savor Vietnamese specialties like Pho Thin, Banh Mi, as well as specially crafted Indian vegetarian dishes and Halal options.
