The AIIFA Sustainable Steel Manufacturers Association, in association with the Steel Manufacturers Association of Maharashtra (SMAM) and under the aegis of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), proudly presents AIIFA STEELEX-2025 alongside the 37th National Conference on Sustainable Steel, to be held on 19th–20th September 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai.
With the theme “Profitable Sustainability – Green Steel: A Future Ecosystem,” this flagship event will focus on how India’s steel sector—particularly the secondary steel industry—can achieve a balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship. In line with India’s vision of reaching 300 million tonnes of steel capacity by 2030, the event will serve as a catalyst for policy reforms, technological innovation, and strategic partnerships to drive the transition toward low-carbon steelmaking.
AIIFA STEELEX-2025 will showcase more than 300 exhibitors, presenting innovations in iron and steelmaking, rolling mills, automation, scrap recycling, energy-efficient technologies, process control, and plant machinery. The exhibition will attract a broad spectrum of participants, including steel producers, machinery manufacturers, fabricators, foundries, technology providers, consultants, and solution developers—creating a vibrant ecosystem for business growth, networking, and knowledge exchange.
Running parallel to the exhibition, the 37th National Conference will host over 3,500 delegates from across the steel value chain, including CPSEs, government bodies, sponge iron and DRI units, induction furnace producers, rolling mills, and allied industries. Leading institutions such as CSIR-NML, Joint Plant Committee (JPC), NISST, SRTMI, and UNDP, along with AIIFA members, will spearhead discussions on renewable energy adoption, hydrogen-based DRI, sustainable raw material strategies, and circular economy practices such as large-scale scrap processing.
The session topics curated for the two-day conference are particularly relevant to today’s industrial and policy environment. They address critical issues such as decarbonization, raw material security, renewable energy integration, hydrogen technologies, circular economy models, and the implications of global trade mechanisms like the EU’s CBAM. By tackling these pressing challenges, the sessions aim to generate actionable insights and practical strategies, fostering constructive dialogue among policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and technologists.
As the secondary steel sector, which contributes nearly 60% of India’s steel output, continues to drive decentralized growth and employment in semi-urban and rural regions, it must also overcome challenges of raw material volatility, high energy and logistics costs, and rising decarbonization pressures. In this context, AIIFA STEELEX-2025 and the 37th National Conference provide a timely platform to chart a roadmap for a resilient, sustainable, and technologically advanced Indian steel industry.
By enabling strategic dialogue, fostering innovation, and reinforcing industry–government partnerships, this landmark event aspires to shape a globally competitive, future-ready steel ecosystem—one that is innovation-driven, sustainable, and aligned with India’s net-zero vision.
