1500 delegates and 50 speakers adorned Day 1 of DSC 2018
Mumbai – 30th May 2018: Shri Vijay Goel, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt. of India inaugurated India’s largest data science event, Data Science Congress, 2018 – an initiative of Aegis School of Data Science and mUni Campus. Day 1 of Data Science Congress also witnessed a unique perspective of ‘Data in Politics’ by Praveen Chakravarty, Chairman, Data Analytics Department, Indian National Congress who made his first public appearance at this event.
Data Science Congress 2018 started with an opening act of Mallakhamba by students trained under Mallakhamba legend Uday Deshpande. Post which Mr. Bhupesh Daheria, CEO, Aegis School of Data Science welcomed Hon’ble Minister Shri Vijay Goel who spoke about the importance of Data Science in our technology driven lives. He mentioned how his Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is using technology in a big way. Later, Mr. Praveen Chakravarty, Chairman Data Analytics, Indian National Congress, spoke about the role of Data in Politics.
The day saw some interesting panel discussions & talks on Machine learning in eye care, rise of virtual logistics, Data Science for Telecom, building data science products, and data science for banking between leaders from companies like IIM, Atos, IBM, Reliance Industries, Convergent Communications India, FedEx, Fractal Analytics, Microsoft, Locus, Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, Acalvio Technologies, CreditVidya, SBI, J P Morgan Chase, Yes Bank and Axis Bank.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Vijay Goel, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics and Programme Implementation said, “I am extremely happy to participate in the Data Science Congress organised by the Aegis School of Data Science and mUni Campus. More than 50 speakers along with 1500 delegates from different industries showed their presence at Day 1, Data Science Congress 2018.
