Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 brings viewers back to Riley’s mind, who is 13-year-old now, where new anthropomorphized emotions take control to keep up with her teenage feelings. The most anticipated film will be a sequel to the 2015 film Inside Out which received an impressive box office response, clocking $858.8M worldwide, followed by an Oscar win in the ‘Best Animation Feature’ category.
Reliable sources have projected the highest opening for Inside Out 2 of about $80M-$85M at the domestic box office year-to-date, surpassing that of Dune Part Two ($82.5M) and Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire ($80M). The figures suggest the biggest opening weekend post-Covid era for the studios. Also, Inside Out 2 sets to open on the Father’s Day weekend of June 14-16.
The first 35 minutes of Inside Out 2’s footage was unveiled at CinemaCon 2024, which received immense appreciation from audiences describing it as ‘a perfect sequel’, and ‘fave Pixar film’. While the anticipation soars high for new emotions like ‘Anxiety’ (Maya Hawke), and ‘Envy’ (Ayo Edebiri), Inside Out 2 will bring back the superteam of emotions: ‘Joy’ (Amy Poehler), ‘Sadness’ (Phyllis Smith), ‘Anger’ (Lewis Black), ‘Fear’ (Tony Hale) and ‘Disgust’ (Liza Lapira), to wreak havoc in Riley’s mind!
Inside Out 2 will hit Indian theatres on June 14
