Dynamix Achievers emerge victorious in the finals and clinch the The Aditya Birla Memorial Cup 2024*

Mumbai, 20th January 2024: On the final day of The Aditya Birla Memorial Cup 2024 organised by the Amateur Riders Club, Dynamix Achievers emerged victorious against team Mumbai Polo in a thrilling game of Mumbai polo. The Finals were held at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mumbai.

Each team consists of 4 players and their ranking is given as handicapped. The rankings range from -2 to +10 (minus two to plus ten) as per their performances and skills.

Team combinations –

In team Mumbai Polo/Navy the polo players are Rahul Dwarkadas (0), Shyam Mehta (0), Mr Shamsheer Ali (+4) and Gerrado Mazzini (+4).

In team Dynamix Achievers the polo players are Neil Malaney (-2), Vishwarupe Bajaj (0), Abhimanyu Pathak (+4) and Chris Mackenzie (+6).

Final (Mumbai Polo Vs Dynamix Achievers)

In the first chukker, Abhimanyu Pathak scored a goal right after the kick off. Shamsheer Ali equalises after a beautiful long shot. In the second half of the chukker, Chris Mackenzie missed a sixty yard penalty. Shamsheer Ali scored once again and gave his team the lead for the first time in the game. The scoreline at the end of the chukker was Dynamix Achievers (1) – Mumbai Polo (2).

In the second chukker, Chris Mackenzie scored from a 40 yard penalty and levelled the scoreline. Chris Mackenzie scored once again and doubled his team’s lead. Gerrardo Mazzini scored from a thirty yard penalty and kept his team in the fight. In the second half of the chukker, Chris Mackenzie scored once again and this from superb solo effort. The scoreline at the end of the chukker was Dynamix Achievers (5) – Mumbai Polo (3).

In the third chukker, Gerrardo Mazzini scored after excellent link up play with Shamsheer Ali. Gerrardo Mazzini scored from a 40 yard penalty and levelled the scoreline once again. In the second half of the chukker, Abhimanyu Pathak scored from a solo run and gave his team the lead. Seventh goal. The scoreline at the end of the chukker was Dynamix Achievers (7) – Mumbai Polo (5).

In the fourth chukker, Shamsheer Ali scored again late in the chukker giving his team hope. The scoreline at the end of the chukker was Dynamix Achievers (7) – Mumbai Polo (6).

Dynamix Achievers clinched The Aditya Birla Cup Memorial Cup 2024 after a closely fought final against Mumbai Polo.
