HCCB to implement community projects in 14 villages including upskilling 5,500 people in Maharashtra

HCCB seeks to bridge the gender gap in financial inclusion and adoption of digital technologies among 3,000 women in the state

Pune , October 2023 – Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), India’s leading FMCG company , has collaborated with Y4D Foundation to launch a multi-faceted initiative aimed at empowering 5,500 people in Maharashtra through various upskilling initiatives . The company also announced to implement various community development activities in 14 villages of Lote , Wada , Pirangut. Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. The initiative was launched by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages at the India Moment Conclave organized by Y4D Foundation in Pune in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis.

HCCB will equip 3,000 women out of 5,500 individuals with critical financial and digital literacy skills . Also , the company will train 2,500 youth through an extensive sales and marketing certification initiative . The company will implement transformative development projects in 14 villages of Lote , Wada and Pirangut in the areas of clean drinking water , sustainable agricultural practices , plastic waste management , civic service centers ( NSK ) and educational infrastructure .

Financial literacy training includes banking basics , account opening process , Unified Payments Interface ( UPI ) training , investment guidance , net banking and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao , Sukanya Sam Riddhi Yojana Nari Information on various government schemes for women like Shakti will cover these basic concepts . On the other hand , the digital literacy component will include topics like mobile banking , digital market linkages and cyber safety and security to equip these women with the necessary tools to succeed in the digital age . The training will be conducted in a classroom – based format at selected locations across the country . Beneficiaries will be divided and trained into groups based on their interests , needs and current level of digital and financial literacy . The initiative aims to promote a more focused and efficient learning experience .

Also , the sales and marketing certification program will include a variety of participants, including recent graduates and graduate students , as well as college dropouts ages 18 and up. The three-month program will consist of a comprehensive 30-hour course and will provide participants with the best learning experience , including 6 hours of face-to-face interactions and 24 hours of comprehensive online sessions.

Expressing his opinion about these activities Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnavis said , “ I believe that industry and community development should go hand in hand, and HCCB’s initiatives reinforce this development. I have envisioned a Maharashtra where every person , irrespective of gender or background, gets the tools and opportunities to thrive. Focusing on upskilling the youth in sales and marketing along with making women financially and digitally literate, these initiatives will boost the ambitions of individuals , and also contribute towards the socio-economic progress of our state. ”
