Mumbai, 5th April, 2024: ASK Foundation24, a leading Mumbai-based NGO, today felicitated Ranji player, Bhupen Lalwani, who gave a stellar performance for the champions Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season. ASK Foundation24 supports Bhupen Lalwani as part of their Sports for Development initiative.
Gracing the prestigious occasion were prominent personalities including Shri Ashish Shelar, President BJP Mumbai, Honorary Treasurer BCCI, MLA Bandra West, Shri Amol Kale, President, Mumbai Cricket Association and Mrs. Avani Agasti, Founder, ASK Foundation24.
The highest run-getter for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy 2024, Bhupen scored 588 runs and became the third-highest run getter in the West Zone and the 15th highest in India. Awarded the ‘Best Batsman’ of Mumbai Ranji Team in 2023-2024 and U23 Category in 2019, Bhupen has 65 centuries in his name till date.
Shri Ashish Shelar, Hon. BCCI Treasurer, President BJP Mumbai, MLA Bandra West, said: “I am extremely happy to felicitate a very talented player like Bhupen. He put in an exceptional performance in the Ranji Trophy and his prominent contribution played an important role in Mumbai winning the trophy. I wish him the very best for a bright career in the future.”
Shri Amol Kale, President, Mumbai Cricket Association, added: “The Mumbai team displayed a top-notch performance in the recent Ranji Trophy. It was great to witness Mumbai lifting the trophy after a gap of eight years. The contribution of youngsters like Bhupen is very important in achieving such wins. I wish Bhupen the best to perform admirably in the future and am sure his exploits will encourage more young and energetic players in the Mumbai team.”
Bhupen Lalwani donated Rs. One lakh to the ASK Foundation24 NGO as a token of appreciation for their continuous support in his journey.

Started in 2019, ASK Foundation24 works towards the development of women and children in the fields of Education, Health, Sports, Infrastructure and more. Bhupen Lalwani and footballer Yashas Sharin from Gokulam Kerala FC are some of the players that the foundation supports through their Sports for Development programme.
