Mumbai Sports’: An initiative to create awareness about sports and a big platform for the next generation of players to have sportsmanship!!!

Mumbai, 3rd September 2022: On National Sports Day organized by the ‘Mumbai Sports’, the collective platform of the Mumbai sports world, at the Prabodhankar Thackeray Sports Complex at Vile Parle. The Krida Bhishmacharya Shri. Madhukar Talwalkar’s announced the best sportsperson in Mumbai and honoured them with one lakh rupees every year for the next five years. The mantra was shared by him to sports workers to stay fit – this made the National Sports Day program celebrated on behalf of Major Dhyan Chand’s birthday very special!

The desire to preserve sports culture by enhancing the enthusiasm for the ‘Maidan Bhachu’ movement, as well as the initiative of Poisar Gymkhana to felicitate the athletes of Mumbai, etc., encouraged the sports in Mumbai and by bringing the sports lovers together in the city and the comprehensive sports movement of the city called ‘Mumbai Sports’ to create awareness and educate Mumbaikars on sports.

Late Madhukar Darekar, who enthusiastically participated in last year’s event of Mumbai sports, was missed by all. Mahendra Chemburkar paid tribute to him and after that while starting the program Mr. of Chhatrapati Shivaji Smarak Trust. Arvind Prabhu welcomed everyone.

Sports Maharishi Shri. Madhukar Talwalkar as well as President of India Taekwondo, Joint Secretary of Indian Olympic Association, General Secretary of Maharashtra Olympic Association Shri. Namdev Shirgaonkar felicitated the players and office bearers who achieved great success in various competitions.
