Pilgrims to start Chardham Yatra only after checking registration availability!

Mumbai 16 (correspondent) : The Uttarakhand government has advised the pilgrims coming from across the country on the Chardham Yatra to compulsorily register before starting the journey. Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar said that in order to make the journey of the pilgrims visiting Char Dham pleasant and safe, the limit of registration has been fixed according to the carrying capacity of various Dhams. Therefore, start the journey only after checking the availability of pilgrim registration. Along with this, all the passengers have been instructed to study and follow the health advisory before departure for Char Dham Yatra.

The tourism department has set a certain limit for the registration of pilgrims in the state. Passengers arriving in Uttarakhand without registration will not be allowed to go beyond Rishikesh in case registration is not available. The department has also said that after getting the registration done, the pilgrims reached Uttarakhand to start the journey on the due date itself. Also, make booking of hotels etc. to stay only after registering. Secretary Tourism Shri Dilip Jawalkar has said that the pilgrims trying for the dates in which the registration has been done up to the prescribed limit should register on the next available dates. He said that at the time of registration, devotees should plan their tour only after checking the availability. Registration for the Yatra can be done at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. It is to be known that without registration by the local police and administration, tourists are not being allowed to go on Char Dham Yatra.

The department says that before coming on the Chardham Yatra, the pilgrims should get their health checked so that they do not have to face any kind of trouble due to the special geographical conditions of the high Himalayan region. All the pilgrimage sites in Chardham Yatra are located in the high Himalayan region. Their altitude is more than 2700 meters above sea level. Pilgrims at these places can be affected by extreme cold, low humidity, extreme ultraviolet radiation, low air pressure and low oxygen content. Health advisory has been issued by the Health Department for the smooth and safe travel of the pilgrims. It is also available on the official website of the department at uttarakhandtourism.gov.in including the social media accounts of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB) like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn. The department has advised passengers to read the health advisory before starting the journey.
