Sanjana Sanghi Champions Youth Action at UNDP’s Global Oceans Day Campaign in New York!

Actress Sanjana Sanghi took center stage today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, leading the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Global Oceans Day Campaign launch. The campaign aims to prompt global action and raise awareness for the urgent need to protect and restore our planet’s oceans.

Sanghi, known for her strong advocacy for youth engagement and environmental causes, delivered a powerful address emphasizing the critical role of young people in shaping a sustainable future for our oceans. Her participation underscores the growing momentum to include diverse voices, particularly those of the younger generation, in environmental policy.

Speaking about her involvement, Sanjana Sanghi stated, “It is an honor to be a part of the UNDP’s Global Oceans Day campaign at the UN Headquarters in New York. My keynote at the UNGA was a plea to have the youth participate in the decisions that will affect their future, and this is a further concrete step in that direction. To not want to see change, but get to be at the nerve center of where change is built is a matter of immense pride and hope.”

Sanghi’s presence at the UN Headquarters highlights a significant push to bridge the gap between policy-making and ground-level action, particularly through the empowerment of youth. Her message stressing the importance of not just observing change, but actively participating in its creation continues to strike a chord from her keynote address at the United Nations General Assembly a few months ago. The campaign is expected to roll out initiatives and programs globally, focusing on sustainable ocean practices, marine conservation, and combating plastic pollution.
