Not Today, Dope, Run, Mic Drop, Permission to Dance, DNA or Save Me. Love BTS, then you would definitely know what we are talking about. For all those who love iconic K-Pop boy band, BTS, get ready to groove and dine at Bangtan Lounge on Mumbai’s Mira Road.

As the name suggests, Korean boy band Bangtan Sonyeondan, popularly known as BTS is the inspiration behind this plush, spacious and slick lounge bar on Mira Road. In Korean, “Bangtan” means bulletproof and the owners have left no stone unturned to make this upscale lounge bar the most relaxed and refined destination. And yes, this newest venture is dedicated to the most popular seven boys in Korea, BTS.

Owner Kingshuk Goon & Kaushik Goon has been inspired by the South Korean band BTS for 5-6 years now. “Our journey with them has been inspiring and motivating. Through these boys, we came to know about a lot of things… the many hardships in this world. We want people to appreciate and give credit where credit is due,” he said.

With a comfortable seating arrangement for 200 people and an area of around 3500 sqft, Bangtan Lounge delivers a premium experience to families and people of all ages who want to have fun over food.

Mr Goon doesn’t believe in stereotypes and is always on the lookout to create something fresh. This is how Bangtang Lounge was born. “We aim to break the stereotypical hospitality business norms and want to create something out of the box for the new upcoming generations to enjoy with great food and music,” he said.

This BTS-themed lounge bar is a paradise for the food connoisseurs. The foodies can have a variety of cuisines from different countries with incredible deals and entertainment. And yes, you guessed it right. Bangtan Lounge will become the hotspot for those who love Korean food and all things about k-pop.

“We have lipsmacking Korean dishes like Gimbap and the famous Korean fried chicken which goes well with beer. It is the favourite food combination in South Korea,” Mr Goon mentioned.

Also, most of the premium lounge bars are tucked away in Bandra and Andheri, leaving Mira Road with a handful of good options to dine, dance and relax. And not all places in Mumbai also serve a wide variety of global cuisines. Bangtang Lounge will bridge the gap in world culture and showcase a rich and varied culture, all in one place.

Though Mr Goon admits Mira Road is located on the outskirts of Mumbai, however, in recent years, the area has seen major development. “If everybody focuses on just one economy, which is the main central town economy, what will happen to the newly developed but unknown parts of the same town? We want to encourage the economy on this side of Mumbai, create job opportunities, and tap into all the yet-to-be-discovered potential lying hidden on the outskirts. We want to prove to people that though we are on the outskirts, Mira Road has standards to uphold. We need to have places where we can enjoy ourselves without having to travel two hours to the south of Mumbai and face traffic,” he said.

In fact, Bangtan Lounge has an attractive DJ console and dance floor. Soon, live musicians will play in the lounge. Also, the global tapas bar is an added attraction of Bangtan Lounge. The restaurant will serve specialities from all over the world, house-curated cocktails and new mixes. Bangtan Lounge promises a dining experience like no other.

“Bangtan Lounge is and always will be a different place for our clients because we will serve a Global Tapas menu, which no other restaurant in Mumbai serves. It is a one-stop station for all the different types of cuisine from all around the world. Adding to that, we have a curated menu of cocktails that are different,” said Mr Goon.

Now, we have saved the best for last. As we are just starting out, there is no entry fee. Yes, you did read that right. So, what are you waiting for? Bring your BFFs, girl gang, families and friends and get ready to party and dine hard. We are open from November 17th. Remember the date.
